I'm thrilled to take you behind the scenes of one of the most exhilarating and creatively charged sessions I've had the pleasure to shoot this past year. Picture this: the serene ambiance of a riverside cemetery, serving as a hauntingly beautiful backdrop for a photography collaboration that celebrates the weird and the dark.

At the heart of this artistic adventure was the ethereal Ann Taylor – local model, makeup artist, and visionary extraordinaire. From the moment I first saw Ann in a local theater production, it was clear to me that she had a unique style and mystery. We worked on a commercial project together and I was very excited to get to collaborate with her on a creative session.

As we ventured in cemetery grounds, Ann's presence infused every frame with a sense of dark femininity that was both mesmerizing and deeply evocative. With her keen eye for detail and fearless approach to self-expression, she effortlessly transformed the eerie landscape into a dark romance complete with the skull of a deer, fire, and white eyes.

From meticulously crafting her own styling to masterfully executing her makeup with an air of dark allure, she breathed a tale into every aspect of the shoot, leaving no stone unturned as she embodied the essence of this ghostly figure. Was she girl, goddess, or ghoul?

But perhaps the most captivating aspect of Ann was her ability to see the allure of the shadows, the poetry in the decay. Anns approach to modeling is something I can only describe as a dance, subtle changes in movement and expression. It can be intimidating from the outside to see an artist at work who is so in tune with herself and it is a sight to behold.

As the shutter clicked and the images began to take shape, I couldn't help but marvel at the transformative power of photography and working with other creators. Through our collaboration, we had succeeded in capturing something truly wonderful– a moment of dark femininity disconnected from conventional standards of sensuality, both odd and beautiful.

So here's to Ann Taylor, and to all the artists who dare to explore the shadowy places of their creativity. May we continue to push the boundaries of conventional beauty, finding inspiration in the weird.

Until next time— keep chasing the ideas that thrill you, and remember to embrace the beauty in the macabre.

With passion and gratitude,

Cece
